    Long Time No See

Well, I guess it's been a while. Not much has changed, except school has started. I have quite a bit more part-time work this semester than the last two. I tutor at school about 8 hours a week, put in about 10 hours a week at the local grocery store, and still work Friday's mowing lawns. I'm finally taking some education classes, so I guess I'll see if I'm still interested in teaching after this semester. Hopefully I will have some stimulating ideas on which to expound here in the future. But today I don't feel profound. So I'll leave. Oh, and the Phillies are 8 games in first place.

    Philosophy

So, let's just say Christian Apologetics at Rosedale was the best course I ever took. It taught me some things that I never knew before, and it prepared me greatly for the world of secular philosophy. Almost our entire Ethics class today (and about 15 minutes after class) were spent discussing perceptions of God. The original context was the Moral Vision of Jesus, but after one question regarding pantheism, I managed to derail the discussion for the next 40 minutes. It was quite interesting. I held my own, neither my professor or I convinced the other of anything, and we both came out of the discussion with a better understanding of and respect for the other's position. Essentially, we both have the same goal (the healing of humanity), but our different starting points lead to different perspectives. I'm hopeful that future discussion will take place.

    Take Me Home Now

Let's just say I'm glad this isn't my real home. http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601039&refer=columnist_mccaughey&sid=aLzfDxfbwhzs
It would be one thing if these were merely ignorant libs who didn't know what they're doing. But they know exactly what they're doing. They're determined to use this economic crisis to shackle the American middle and lower classes and declare war on the upper class. When they try to make everyone equal, they don't bring people up to the level of the middle-class; they take the middle-class to the level of the welfare dependents. That's not America. I guess I should stop worrying about my temporary home and concentrate on the Eternal One, but I still have a soft spot for this great nation. That's why I'm still worried.
